Historic Whimsy
Gardner Village, a unique and special place in West Jordan, celebrates the early Utah pioneer mill industry and history in a lovely way. With specialty shops housed in cabins, houses and buildings, it’s a charming place to spend a day. Adorned with antique fixtures, a red brick path, and a bridge over a small pond. The central building, once a flour mill, is now the popular Archibald’s Restaurant. Summer through October, stop by the Saturday Farmer’s Market.
Trails, Rail, Bikes, Dogs and Treats.
Historic downtown is being renovated to include retail and office space, a trail linking to Gardner Village and the Jordan River Trail, and a cultural pavilion that houses the new light rail station.
The new library, and amazing new park is a lovely destination. A chic library, it features floor to ceiling viewing windows where you can see exactly how books are sorted! Across the lot is the new playground and fantastic fortress with several levels of (short) slides, swings and a small climbing wall
Why not grab a drink at High Point Coffee and take the pups and take them to the West Jordan, Off-Leash Dog Park.? A fully enclosed park separated into three areas: 1 for small dogs and 2 for larger dogs.
Visible from space, Kennecott Copper Mine is the world’s largest man-made excavation, located in the foothills of Oquirrh Mountains. While the visitor’s center is closed and being rebuilt, take a virtual tour online to hear a few talking points that help educate kids (and maybe parents) on minerals and mining.
The Annual Western Stampede Rodeo is a local custom to celebrate Independence Day, with a flag ceremony, parade, movie, and fireworks.
West Jordan is a great place to live, work and play!
